Catch and Release Blues Band started four years ago by playing strictly Chicago and Delta style blues, but soon learned that four hours in a bar scene did not lend itself to an all-blues lineup.  The songlist has gradually been augmented with classic rock from Zepplin, Credence, the Stones and more.  Guess what? We are having more fun, and from the frenzy on the dance floor, so are our listeners!!

 

Playing in their fourth year together, members of the band came to the group with a varied and diverse background of musical interests.   Lead guitar work is provided by Kevin Tingstad, who came to the blues with a background as a performing musician in jazz and rock.  The main percussion work is done by Seth Kilbourn, who, with a Masters in Music from Central Michigan University, and years of playing jazz and blues, brings a lifetime of percussion experience to the group.  The bass line is delivered by Don Mick, who originally joined the group as a blues harp player and migrated to the bass.  The newest member of the group is Tim Harris, who plays keyboard, guitar, and leads the vocals.
